Role interests
Check the roles you're willing to help with, and mark experience where it applies, then Save. This is what directors see when they're looking for volunteers to staff a contest.
Contests you want to judge
Once you've saved an interest in Judge or Contest Chief Judge, a second section appears listing the active contests in your district. Select Volunteer as Judge or Volunteer as Contest Chief Judge next to the one you want.
This is a request, not a booking. Nothing is confirmed until a District Chief Judge — or, for a Judge request, that contest's own Contest Chief Judge — approves it. You'll be emailed either way. See Signing Up to Judge a Contest for what the reviewer checks.
Each request shows where it stands:
- Pending — waiting on a decision. Withdraw simply takes the request back, and you can volunteer again later.
- Approved — you have a place on the contest. Withdraw gives it up, and you won't be able to volunteer for that same contest and role again, so you'll be asked to confirm first.
- Declined or Withdrawn — final, with nothing further to do.
If you later untick Judge or Contest Chief Judge in your role interests, any request you still have on an active contest stays visible here so you can withdraw it. You just won't be offered new contests until you tick the role again.
