Managing a Contest's Judges
Open a contest and go to Judges. This page covers the Contest Judges (CJ) for that contest — the Contest Chief Judge (CCJ) is managed on the Helpers roster instead.
Only people who can manage judges for a contest can reach this page at all — everyone else gets a not-found page, same as trying to open a contest you have no access to.
Pending requests
Volunteers who have asked to judge this contest are listed here awaiting a decision. See Signing Up to Judge a Contest for how they get here.
- Approve seats them on the contest and emails them.
- Decline closes the request and emails them.
Where the district's member directory flags a lapsed membership, less time as a member than the district's judge tenure requirement, or an education level below its Pathways requirement, you're asked for a written reason before you can approve. The reason is stored with the decision.
As a Contest Chief Judge you can decide Judge requests for your own contest. Approving a Contest Chief Judge request is the District Chief Judge's call alone.
Removing a judge
Remove next to a seated judge:
- Deletes their judge place on this contest.
- Cancels any outstanding invitation tied to it.
- Adjusts their contest access down to whatever their other roles on the contest still justify.
