Managing Contest Files
Open a contest and go to Files.
Uploading a file
Choose a category — General, Script, Slides, Ballots, Awards/Winners, or Other — pick who can see it, and select the file. General is the catch-all for a file that doesn't fit a more specific category.
Visibility
Each file is tagged with a minimum audience, from broadest to narrowest:
- Everyone
- Participant
- Helpers
- Judges
- Contest Admin
- Coordinators
Tagging a file Judges means anyone at Judges clearance or higher (Contest Admin, Coordinators) can see it — clearance is cumulative, not exact-match. You can change a file's tag anytime; select the new tag and save.
Moving a file to another category
Filed something in the wrong category? On each row, pick the new category and select Move. This changes only how the file is grouped and filtered — it does not touch its visibility.
What you see on this page
Your contest's files show in a single list, each row tagged with its category and visibility. The files listed are only the ones your own clearance can view — someone with narrower access won't see files above their level, even if they exist on the contest.
Use Filter by category at the top of the page to narrow the list to a single category. The filter applies to both the shared-files section and your contest's own files.
Shared files
Above your contest's own files, you'll see a read-only section of files uploaded at the district, division, or area level — these come from Shared Files and apply to every contest in that scope. You can't edit or remove them from here.
Removing a file
Select delete on a file to remove it. This can't be undone.
